Version Details and Security Vulnerabilities

This affects all versions of the package dicer. A malicious attacker can send a modified form to the server and crash the Node.js service. A complete denial of service can be achieved by sending the malicious form in a loop.

Versions of lodash.merge before 4.6.2 are vulnerable to prototype pollution. The function merge may allow a malicious user to modify the prototype of Object via {constructor: {prototype: {...}}} causing the addition or modification of an existing property that will exist on all objects.

Recommendation

Update to version 4.6.2 or later.

When nanoid is called with a fractional value, there were a number of undesirable effects:

1. in browser and non-secure, the code infinite loops on while (size--)
2. in node, the value of poolOffset becomes fractional, causing calls to nanoid to return zeroes until the pool is next filled
3. if the first call in node is a fractional argument, the initial buffer allocation fails with an error

Version 3.3.8 and 5.0.9 are fixed.
